October 9, 2024: As we move deeper into October, a lineup of highly anticipated films from various Indian film industries is set to light up the big screen. Three major releases this week—Jigra, Vettaiyan, and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video—promise to offer a variety of genres, from thrilling action to lighthearted comedy.

Jigra (Releasing October 11 in Theatres)

Directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra is a gripping action thriller starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina in lead roles. The film centers on Satya (Alia Bhatt), a fiercely protective sister, who will go to any lengths to rescue her brother, Ankur (Vedang Raina), from a prison break. The sibling bond forms the emotional core of this high-octane film, and Jigra marks the first time Alia and Vedang share the screen. This film has generated tremendous buzz and is one of the most awaited Hindi releases of 2024.

Vettaiyan (Releasing October 10 in Theatres)

Superstar Rajinikanth and Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan come together for Vettaiyan, a Tamil action drama directed by T.J. Gnanavel. The film also stars Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan. Set to release on Vijayadashami, the movie showcases Rajinikanth as a former IPS officer and encounter specialist fighting against injustice. While the storyline has been kept under wraps, Vettaiyan marks Amitabh Bachchan’s debut in Tamil cinema, adding to the excitement.

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video (Releasing October 11 in Theatres)

This quirky comedy, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, introduces a new on-screen pairing of Triptii Dimri and Rajkummar Rao as Vicky and Vidya. Set in 1997, the film revolves around a newlywed couple who decide to film their first wedding night, only to have the video stolen, leading to a series of hilarious mishaps as they try to recover it. With its unique premise, the film promises to explore the social attitudes around sex in the ’90s, offering both laughter and thought-provoking moments.

October is shaping up to be a blockbuster month, with a string of exciting releases on the horizon. Whether you’re in the mood for intense action, heartfelt drama, or lighthearted comedy, these films have something for everyone.
