Composer Amaal Mallik dodges questions regarding Sachet-Parampara’s public demand for an apology after being accused of falsely claiming credit for the Kabir Singh hit, Bekhayali.
December 12, 2025: Composer and recent Bigg Boss 19 contestant Amaal Mallik has given a brief, cryptic reaction to the controversy surrounding his claims about the hit song Bekhayali from the film Kabir Singh.
This comes after the song’s original creators, the musician duo Sachet–Parampara, publicly released a detailed video accusing Mallik of spreading “false and baseless” information and damaging their professional reputation.
Mallik’s Cryptic Reaction
During a recent public appearance, Amaal Mallik was questioned by the media about the allegations made by Sachet–Parampara. Before he could respond, his representative intervened, pulling him away and stating, “No, no, no, baad main” (No, no, no, later). Amaal himself exited the conversation with a smiling and ambiguous farewell, saying only, “All the best.”
Sachet–Parampara Demand Public Apology
The controversy escalated when Sachet–Parampara released a strong statement on Instagram, asserting they were compelled to speak up for their “mental peace.” The duo’s outrage stems from Amaal Mallik’s repeated claims—notably in an interview with Siddharth Kannan—that Sachet–Parampara used his older tune as a reference for Bekhayali. Mallik had allegedly claimed he shared the tune with the duo via a WhatsApp message.
In their video, Sachet–Parampara vehemently asserted that Bekhayali is “purely a Sachet and Parampara original composition.”
- Evidence Presented: They stated that they have “all the chats” with Amaal Mallik and the Kabir Singh team—including actor Shahid Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga—confirming that “Every melody, every composition, every arrangement, every lyric was done when the entire team was there.”
- The Claim: They directly addressed Mallik, saying he is now “claiming” that “I have stolen your song.” They expressed frustration, asking, “Amaal, what is the need for you to do all this?”
- Demand: The duo demanded that Amaal Mallik provide proof for his claims and requested a public apology, stating that his unverified remarks had negatively impacted their reputation. They also showed screenshots of messages they claim Mallik sent to them after the song’s release, which contradicted his current narrative by congratulating and praising their work.
The situation remains unresolved, with Amaal Mallik yet to provide a substantive response to the serious accusations leveled by the composing duo.
