Speaking at the trailer launch of his film Deva, Shahid reflected on the disturbing nature of the attack, stating, “This doesn’t usually happen in Mumbai as it is a very safe city.” He acknowledged the profound impact the event had on the film fraternity and conveyed his sympathy for Saif, who was assaulted by an intruder at his Bandra residence early on Thursday morning.

Shahid mentioned that the entire industry is concerned about Saif’s well-being and that such an incident, occurring within one’s personal space, is difficult to absorb. Shahid added, “We hope Saif’s health is better… We are all extremely shocked by what happened to him.” The actor reiterated that everyone is praying for Saif’s speedy recovery.

The attack, which occurred when an intruder confronted Saif’s maid and escalated into a violent altercation, led to the actor suffering multiple stab wounds, including a major injury to his spine. Saif underwent surgery at Lilavati Hospital, where doctors removed a knife lodged in his spine and repaired leaking spinal fluid. While the actor is reported to be out of danger, his recovery is still being monitored closely.
