This Is The Reason Why Nicole Kidman Thought Of Quitting Acting

December 17, 2024: Nicole Kidman’s recent reflections on her career and motherhood offer a heartfelt glimpse into the balance she’s navigated between her personal and professional life.

In a recent interview, Kidman revealed that after giving birth to her daughter Sunday Rose Kidman Urban in 2008, she seriously considered stepping away from acting. The idea of retirement seemed appealing to her at the time, especially as she and her husband, Keith Urban, had moved to a farm in Nashville to raise their family. “When I gave birth to Sunday, I was like, ‘I think I’m pretty much done now,'” Kidman shared.

However, her mother, Janelle Kidman, played a pivotal role in shaping her decision. “She said, ‘I wouldn’t give up completely. Keep a finger in it,'” Kidman recalled. Her mother encouraged her to maintain a balance, reminding her not to abandon her career entirely but rather to approach it at her own pace and on her own terms. This advice resonated deeply with Kidman, who had long juggled her demanding career with raising her four children, including Sunday and Faith Margaret Kidman Urban, 13, whom she shares with Keith, as well as Bella Kidman Cruise, 31, and Connor Cruise, 29, from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.

Reflecting on her motherhood journey, Kidman also expressed how much she loves children, saying, “I would’ve loved 10 kids, but that’s OK because I get to mother other children.” She takes immense joy in her extended family, noting that she has six nieces and nephews and is a godmother to 12 children. Her love for mothering extends beyond her own children, and she finds fulfillment in nurturing the younger generation, cherishing their quirkiness and growth.

On the professional front, Kidman is having a stellar year. She recently received her 20th Golden Globe nomination for her role in Babygirl, a drama set to hit theaters on December 25. Kidman’s performance has already garnered critical acclaim, winning her the prestigious Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival, as well as the National Board of Review’s NBR Award for Best Actress. Despite considering retirement, Kidman’s career continues to soar, proving that finding a balance between personal desires and professional aspirations can lead to a fulfilling and successful life.

Her ability to embrace both her roles as a mother and a leading actress is inspiring, and it seems clear that Kidman’s legacy in both her family life and her career will continue to evolve in meaningful ways.
