This Is What Producer Sajid Nadiadwala Did After ‘Housefull 5’ Teaser Pulled From Youtube, Deets Inside!

May 10, 2025: The upcoming Bollywood comedy Housefull 5, starring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan, has hit a roadblock just weeks before its release. The film’s teaser, which had been generating significant buzz online, was recently taken down from YouTube due to a copyright claim related to the song Laal Pari, composed by Yo Yo Honey Singh.

According to a report, the situation escalated when it was revealed that the song’s rights had been sold to multiple music labels. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala reportedly had to purchase the rights to Laal Pari from not one but three different entities—Dinesh Productions, Zee Music, and most recently, Mofusion Music Studio—costing him several crores in the process.

A source close to the matter revealed, “Sajid Nadiadwala first purchased rights from Dinesh Productions, then from Zee Music, and now, after receiving a copyright claim from Mofusion Music Studio, he has been forced to purchase the rights from them as well. The filmmaker has been caught off guard several times when acquiring the rights to this song.”

The issue reportedly stemmed from Yo Yo Honey Singh licensing the same song to multiple music companies without informing the stakeholders, leading to a complex legal and financial tangle. Although the initial rights were acquired for over ₹1 crore, additional settlements had to be made discreetly to avoid public controversy.

The teaser remains available on Akshay Kumar’s official Instagram, but the copyright dispute has prompted concerns about the film’s promotional material being disrupted ahead of its theatrical release on June 6.

Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Sonam Bajwa, Shreyas Talpade, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, and Soundarya Sharma.

Despite the hiccup, the team remains hopeful that the copyright situation has now been fully resolved and promotional activities will proceed without further complications.
