March 19, 2025: Selena Gomez and her fiancé, Benny Blanco, have decided to temporarily pause their wedding planning to focus on their upcoming music project. The couple is set to release their much-anticipated album I Said I Love You First on March 21, and they are both pouring their hearts into the project.
In a recent interview with E! News, Blanco shared that Gomez is constantly coming up with new ideas for their wedding, saying, “I think every day she’s planned a new wedding in her head.” However, instead of rushing into wedding preparations, the couple has decided to concentrate on their music. Gomez described this time as “special,” explaining that creating music together has allowed them to showcase their love and connection.
“We genuinely feel like this is such a special time that we get to apply it to this album and really just pour our hearts into it,” Gomez said. “We’re completely translating what we feel and bringing it to the world.”
Blanco, 37, emphasized that they are taking things one step at a time. The couple is still relishing the excitement of their recent engagement, which was announced in December after Blanco proposed during a romantic Taco Bell picnic. He added that they are not rushing into the wedding planning phase and are enjoying the current moment of their engagement. “We’re very much ‘take it one day at a time’-type of people. We’re still not over this moment,” Blanco said.
The album, I Said I Love You First, is a deeply personal project that blends both of their stories and experiences. Gomez reflected on the intimacy of working together in their home recording studio, calling it the most personal recording experience she has ever had. “This whole project embodies his stories combined with my stories. They have meanings that are really just personal to both of us,” Gomez explained.
