This week, Movie Theatres Are Offering New Films, Classic Re-releases & Horror Fest

October 24, 2024: Leading the line-up is Venom: The Last Dance, the final instalment in the popular Marvel franchise, along with a re-release of the beloved Bollywood romantic comedy Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. Additionally, PVR INOX has curated a Halloween Film Festival, perfect for horror enthusiasts.

New Releases: Venom: The Last Dance is the highly anticipated third film in the Venom series. Following the success of Venom (2018) and Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021), this final chapter sees Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and his symbiotic alter-ego Venom on the run, facing threats from both worlds. As they navigate a dangerous path, Eddie and Venom must confront a difficult decision that will ultimately determine their fate.

Classic Re-releases:

Gladiator (2000): This iconic film tells the story of Maximus (Russell Crowe), a former Roman general seeking vengeance against Emperor Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix). The film’s emotional depth, epic battles, and stellar performances earned Crowe an Oscar for Best Actor.

Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (2009): Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, this charming comedy stars Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, with a special cameo by Salman Khan. The film follows Prem (Kapoor), a carefree young man who falls for Jenny (Kaif) and embarks on a hilarious journey to win her heart.

Halloween Film Festival: PVR INOX is hosting a Halloween Film Festival featuring a collection of spine-chilling movies for horror fans:

IT Series: Based on Stephen King’s novel, the IT series follows the terrifying adventures of Pennywise the clown. IT (2017) and IT Chapter 2 (2019) blend psychological horror with standout performances, making it a must-watch for thrill-seekers.

The Conjuring Universe: Directed by James Wan, this series has become a staple in supernatural horror. From The Conjuring (2013) to The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021), the films showcase the eerie investigations of the Warrens, blending suspense with real-life tales of paranormal activity.

Maddock Supernatural Universe: This Indian franchise blends folklore with horror-comedy. Stree (2018), a cult classic, mixes humor with ghostly scares, while Bhediya (2022) and Munjya (2023) continue the tradition with fresh, quirky takes on Indian myths.

Don’t Breathe (2016): Directed by Fede Álvarez, this thriller flips the home invasion genre on its head, following three thieves who break into a blind man’s house, only to realize he’s far from helpless.

Bhoot (2003): Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, this psychological horror stars Urmila Matondkar and Ajay Devgn. The chilling portrayal of possession and eerie atmosphere set this film apart in Bollywood’s horror genre.

Whether you’re in the mood for action, romance, or horror, theaters this week have something special for everyone.
