After a solid start on Day 1, Marvel’s Thunderbolts witnessed a 48% drop on Friday, collecting ₹2 crore at the Indian box office.
May 3, 2025: Florence Pugh’s superhero drama Thunderbolts, the latest entrant in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), saw a sharp dip in box office collections on Day 2 after an impressive debut. Despite positive reviews and strong buzz, the film earned ₹2 crore on its first Friday, down from ₹3.85 crore on opening day — marking a nearly 48% drop.
Still, for a regular working day, the numbers are considered decent, especially with stiff competition from IPL 2025 and other weekend releases.
Day-Wise Box Office Breakdown (India):
- Day 1 (May 1): ₹3.85 crore
- Day 2 (May 2): ₹2 crore
- Total (2 Days): ₹5.85 crore
Backed by an 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and favorable audience reactions, the film is expected to recover over the weekend with a potential jump in footfalls.
