Thunderbolts Box Office Day 2: Florence Pugh's Marvel Film Sees Nearly 50% Dip Earns ₹2 Crore, Totalling to This Much
May 3, 2025: Florence Pugh’s superhero drama Thunderbolts, the latest entrant in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), saw a sharp dip in box office collections on Day 2 after an impressive debut. Despite positive reviews and strong buzz, the film earned ₹2 crore on its first Friday, down from ₹3.85 crore on opening day — marking a nearly 48% drop.
Still, for a regular working day, the numbers are considered decent, especially with stiff competition from IPL 2025 and other weekend releases.
Backed by an 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and favorable audience reactions, the film is expected to recover over the weekend with a potential jump in footfalls.
Directed by Jake Schreier, Thunderbolts follows a group of Marvel antiheroes banding together for a dangerous mission. The film stars Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, and Wyatt Russell and is the 36th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
