Thunderbolts Box Office Day 5: Created at a Budget of ₹1500 Cr. Marvel’s Flick Struggles to Cross ₹15 Crore in India

Marvel’s much-hyped antihero film Thunderbolts is failing to make a significant mark at the Indian box office. Starring Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the film’s earnings slipped drastically on its fifth day of release.
According to early estimates, Thunderbolts earned just ₹0.4 crore on Day 5, taking its total India net collection to ₹14.6 crore across English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions.

Directed by Jake Schreier, Thunderbolts introduces a dysfunctional group of superhumans — a team without a clear leader in a post-Avengers world. They’re forced to come together as they encounter a powerful new character named Bob and face internal struggles along the way.

The cast also includes Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Hannah John-Kamen, Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer, and Wendell Pierce.
The movie tackles deeper emotional themes like depression, loneliness, and identity, while also unveiling the dangerous and immensely powerful character Sentry — whose dark alter-ego, The Void, is said to possess the power of “100 exploding suns.”

Despite the Marvel branding and a cast packed with fan-favorites, Thunderbolts hasn’t matched expectations at the Indian box office. With poor weekday footfalls and declining collections, the film faces an uphill battle to cross the ₹20 crore mark unless midweek occupancy picks up.
