Thunderbolts Day 13 Box Office: MCU Film Overtakes Thor, Hulk & Eternals in North America!

Despite modest expectations, Thunderbolts has crossed the $130 million mark in North America, outperforming several legacy Marvel titles on its second Wednesday as it eyes the $150 million milestone.

May 17, 2025: Marvel’s Thunderbolts, led by Florence Pugh, continues its steady run at the North American box office. Now in its second week, the film has quietly achieved a notable feat — outpacing several early-phase MCU heavyweights, including Thor and The Incredible Hulk, in weekday performance.

In doing so, it surpassed:

  • Thor ($2.3 million on its Day 13)
  • The Incredible Hulk ($2.1 million)
  • Eternals ($1.61 million)
  • Captain America: Brave New World ($1.55 million)

13-Day Total: $136.81 Million

With this, Thunderbolts has now earned $136.81 million in North America in just under two weeks. The film opened with a $74.3 million weekend and rounded off its first week with $95.35 million.

While the numbers may not rival top-tier MCU entries like Endgame or No Way Home, it’s a commendable performance for a team of relatively lesser-known heroes. The film also marks the unofficial introduction of “The New Avengers,” hinted at by the asterisk in the official title: Thunderbolts.

Next Targets: $150M and Beyond

With strong weekday legs, Thunderbolts is now set to comfortably cross the $150 million mark by this weekend. The next benchmark is to surpass Captain America: Brave New World, which concluded its domestic run at $200.48 million.

However, the real test begins next week, as Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning and Disney’s Lilo & Stitch reboot hit theatres on May 23, potentially drawing away younger and action-thriller audiences.
