This follows Khanna’s earlier rejection of Ranveer Singh for the same part, emphasising his unwavering search for the right face to revive the legendary character.

In a recent interview with ABP Live, Khanna criticized Tiger Shroff's suitability for the role, claiming that the actor’s youthful image undermines the gravitas of the character. “Forgive me, but if Tiger Shroff tells a child to flush the toilet as Shaktimaan, the kid will turn around and say, ‘Tu baith jaa,’” Khanna said. He elaborated that Tiger's perception as a youthful and playful figure among younger audiences makes it hard to imagine him as the wise and powerful Shaktimaan.

“Shaktimaan is not just a brainless fighter; he represents wisdom, gravitas, and a deep connection to Indian ethos. He is an evolved character who draws his strength from the five elements of nature. Tiger Shroff simply doesn’t have the necessary aura or seriousness for the role,” Khanna explained.

The Essence of Shaktimaan Demands Gravitas

Khanna emphasized that Shaktimaan is not akin to Western superheroes like Iron Man or Arnold Schwarzenegger’s characters, where action takes precedence. "Shaktimaan's power comes from his wisdom, his moral compass, and his connection to the five elements. This role requires someone with a significant presence and maturity to do justice to the character,” he said.

Ranveer Singh Was Also Rejected

Khanna’s stance against Tiger Shroff isn’t the first time he has opposed a big Bollywood name for Shaktimaan. In 2022, rumours swirled about Ranveer Singh being considered for the role in a film adaptation. Khanna, however, voiced his strong disapproval, asserting that Singh did not align with the essence of the character. Despite personal appeals from Ranveer, Khanna reportedly refused to grant permission for the actor to portray Shaktimaan, which eventually led to the shelving of the project.
