Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas Split After Nine Months, End Whirlwind Romance on Good Terms
Hollywood’s latest high-profile romance has reportedly come to an end. Superstar Tom Cruise and actress Ana de Armas have officially broken up after dating for just under nine months. The pair, who first sparked dating rumors in February, decided to part ways amicably, having concluded that they are “better off as friends.”
Despite their whirlwind romance, a source close to the actors confirmed the split to The Sun, stating that the relationship simply reached its natural end.
“Tom and Ana had a good time together, but their time as a couple has run its course,” the insider shared. “They just realised they weren’t going to go the distance and are better off as mates.”
The news comes as a surprise to many fans, particularly since rumors of a potential engagement had recently begun swirling.
Crucially, the professional relationship between the two actors is set to continue. The source confirmed that the split has been handled maturely, and the breakup will not impact their professional commitments.
“She’s already been cast in his next film, so they’ll continue to work together,” the insider noted.
The pair were reportedly set to co-star in the supernatural thriller Deeper, which is currently on hold, and were also expected to reunite for another project titled Pressure.
Tom and Ana’s relationship went public earlier this year after they were photographed holding hands during a cozy getaway in Vermont. Their romance was quickly dubbed a whirlwind, featuring glamorous public appearances that convinced fans they were serious.
These outings included romantic trips to Madrid and London, as well as high-profile events such as David Beckham’s 50th birthday bash and an Oasis concert at Wembley Stadium.
Ana de Armas, known for her breakout roles in films like Knives Out, No Time to Die, and Ballerina, previously dated actor Ben Affleck.
For Tom Cruise, this marked his first major high-profile relationship since his divorce from Katie Holmes. The Mission: Impossible star has been married three times previously, including to actresses Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman.
