June 6, 2025: Tom Cruise has once again raised the bar for action stars worldwide by setting a new Guinness World Record for performing 16 flaming parachute jumps in the latest installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise — The Final Reckoning.

The 62-year-old actor, known for doing his own death-defying stunts, stunned fans with behind-the-scenes footage shared on his Instagram on June 5. The clip shows Cruise meticulously planning and executing one of the most dangerous stunts of his career: jumping out of a helicopter while strapped to a parachute soaked in fuel and set on fire mid-air.

Explaining the risks to the crew, Cruise said, “If this is twisted while it’s burning, I’m going to be spinning and burnt. I have to kick out of the twist and then ignite in 10 seconds.” Director Christopher McQuarrie added insight, emphasizing the careful planning behind the stunt to keep it safe yet spectacular.
