Tom Cruise’s ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ Set To Premiere At Cannes Film Festival

April 9, 2025: Tom Cruise and Paramount’s highly anticipated action spy film, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, will make its official debut at the Cannes Film Festival. The movie will be showcased Out of Competition on May 14, with Cruise, director Christopher McQuarrie, and the star-studded cast gracing the red carpet.

The film’s launch at Cannes had long been expected, and the festival’s confirmation has fans excited for the dramatic conclusion to the iconic Mission: Impossible series. A brand new trailer for the film was released on Monday, teasing thrilling action sequences and more death-defying stunts from Cruise’s character, Ethan Hunt. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Erik Jendresen, the film promises to raise the stakes in the world of espionage.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning marks the dramatic end to the franchise, with Ethan Hunt attempting to stop a dangerous AI program known as The Entity, a task that has far-reaching consequences for the globe. Cruise reprises his role alongside Simon Pegg (Benji Dunn), Ving Rhames (Luther Strickell), Vanessa Kirby (Alanna Mitsopolis), Hayley Atwell (Grace), Esai Morales (Gabriel), Shea Wigham (Jasper Briggs), and Greg Tarzan Davis (Degas). The cast also includes Pom Klementieff as Paris, and new franchise additions include Ted Lasso‘s Hannah Waddingham, Nick Offerman, and Lucy Tulugarjuk.
