Tom Felton Says Daniel Radcliffe Is ‘Holding My Hand’ for Broadway Debut

Actor Tom Felton is all set to reprise his iconic role in the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and he’s giving heartfelt credit to none other than his former co-star and on-screen rival, Daniel Radcliffe, for helping him prepare.

Speaking on the red carpet at the 2025 Tony Awards, Felton shared how Radcliffe has been guiding him through the process of stepping into live theatre. “My old school chum, Potter (Daniel) Radcliffe, is holding my hand and certainly helping me through all the things that are hard to learn,” Felton said, acknowledging Radcliffe’s own Broadway experience.

A Magical Return to the Wizarding World

Felton, who gained worldwide fame playing the cunning and complex Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter film series, is thrilled to bring the character back—this time, as an adult and a father. “I get to be a dad, which has been fun,” he told Variety, referring to the play’s storyline set 19 years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

He also expressed surprise at how the Harry Potter fandom has only grown stronger. “I think we all thought the wizarding world would slowly… that the fandom flame might douse over the years, but it’s not,” he said. “The fans have been really gracious and excited.”

The Stage Awaits

Felton’s Broadway debut as Malfoy will take place at the Lyric Theatre in New York City, with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child kicking off its 19-week run on November 11, 2025. The play features the next generation of wizards—children of Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Draco—as they head to Hogwarts.
