July 16, 2025: Netflix’s romantic dramedy Too Much has just landed on the platform’s 2025 slate, and fans are already eager for news of a second season. While no official renewal has been announced, conversations are happening behind the scenes — particularly between series creator Lena Dunham and actress Emily Ratajkowski.

Ratajkowski, who plays Wendy — the new partner of Jess’s (Megan Stalter) ex-boyfriend Zev (Michael Zegen) — recently spoke to Variety about the possibility of reprising her role. “I definitely do,” she said when asked if she could see Wendy returning. “Lena and I have had fun little convos about what that would look like. Who knows? But I absolutely loved playing her. The world felt so clear to me… I feel like I could run into [Wendy] on the street in Brooklyn.”

While Wendy only appears in key parts of Season 1, her interaction with Jess by the end of the finale — a heartfelt moment of reconciliation in London — leaves the door open for further development. Many fans, including Ratajkowski herself, would love to see where their newly mended relationship could go.

Beyond Wendy’s return, there’s also room to explore the fast-moving romance between Jess and Felix (Will Sharpe), who ended the season with a sudden proposal and wedding. Sharpe noted in a Netflix interview that the story feels like a “happy for now” kind of ending. “What we’re really thinking about is that marriage is not the end of a love story — it’s the beginning,” said Dunham. “Especially with two characters who don’t know each other well… they haven’t dealt with an enormous amount of life as a team.”

With such character-driven complexity, fans are hoping Too Much gets added to Netflix’s list of returning shows rather than canceled ones. Its honest take on messy relationships, emotional growth, and modern love has made it an early standout in the streamer’s lineup.

Whether it’s Wendy’s return, Jess and Felix navigating married life, or new romantic entanglements, the creative team is clearly invested in these characters. And that’s giving viewers a good reason to be hopeful.
