Tragic Loss: Russian Actress Swept Away By Wave During Yoga on Thai Island
December 3,2024: Russian actress Kamilla Belyatskaya, 24, tragically lost her life while vacationing on Koh Samui Island, Thailand. She was swept away by a giant wave during a yoga session on a rocky beach she adored, according to reports by Metro.
Ms. Belyatskaya was meditating on a mat near the Lad Ko Viewpoint when a sudden wave pulled her into the turbulent sea. Despite immediate rescue efforts and a bystander’s attempt to save her, she was tragically lost to the waters. Her body was later discovered several kilometers away. A video capturing her final moments, showing her in peaceful meditation before the tragedy, has been widely circulated online.
The actress had a deep affection for Koh Samui, often referring to the island as her “home” and its beaches as the “best place on earth.” Days before the incident, she expressed her gratitude for being at the spot, sharing heartfelt messages on social media.
Chaiyaporn Subprasert, head of the Samui Rescue Centre, emphasized that safety warnings are in place, particularly during the monsoon season. Red flags mark high-risk zones such as Chaweng and Lamai beaches, and tourists are regularly cautioned about potential hazards. Although the incident occurred at a scenic viewpoint rather than a designated swimming area, the unexpected wave surge proved fatal.
