In the latest teaser for an upcoming episode of the New Heights podcast, which Travis co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is seen vibing to Taylor’s hit single “I Knew You Were Trouble”. The track, from Swift’s 2012 album Red, plays as guest Shaquille O’Neal surprises the Kelce brothers by playing it from his phone.
The room quickly turns into a mini celebration as the trio bursts into laughter and breaks into an impromptu dance session. The 53-year-old NBA legend declared, “That’s my favorite song in the world, brother, I love it,” as Travis and Jason cheered in agreement.
Travis then gave a sweet shoutout to Taylor, acknowledging her recent victory in securing ownership of her music:
“Shout out to Tay Tay. Just got that song back, too. Just bought all her music back so it’s finally hers, man, I appreciate that, dog. Love you, big Diesel.”
Travis was referring to the monumental announcement that Taylor Swift now officially owns the masters to her first six studio albums — a battle that began in 2019 when her original catalog was sold without her consent to music executive Scooter Braun.
Taking to Instagram and her official website, Taylor penned a heartfelt letter to fans expressing how much the moment means to her:
“Hi. I’m trying to gather my thoughts into something coherent, but right now my mind is just a slideshow… All the times I was thiiiiiiiiiiiiis close, reaching out for it, only for it to fall through. I almost stopped thinking it could ever happen… But that’s all in the past now.”
Swift finalized a deal with Shamrock Capital, allowing her to reacquire the rights, and confirmed that her debut self-titled album from 2006 has been completely re-recorded. Only a small portion of Reputation remains to be redone.
“Those two albums can still have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right… It will just be a celebration now,” she added, closing the chapter on years of creative frustration.
Travis Kelce’s public support adds a personal touch to the professional victory for Taylor Swift. Known for being each other’s biggest cheerleaders, the couple continues to show up for one another in meaningful ways — whether it’s at sold-out stadium tours or through heartfelt podcast moments.
With Swift’s fans around the world celebrating her hard-won ownership battle, and moments like these from Kelce going viral, it’s clear this is more than just a career milestone — it’s a cultural moment.
