Triptii Dimri Bags Lead Role Opposite Prabhas in ‘Spirit’; Rumoured Beau Sam Merchant Reacts

March 25, 2025: Triptii Dimri, who became a national sensation following her breakout role in Animal, has officially been announced as the female lead in director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film Spirit, opposite Prabhas. The announcement has created a buzz across Bollywood and social media, with fans and celebrities alike showering the rising star with love and support.

Triptii took to her social media on Saturday to confirm the news, posting a photo of the film’s title poster with her name written in multiple Indian and international languages. Sandeep Reddy Vanga also welcomed her on board, sharing the poster and writing, “The female lead for my film is now official :-)”

Interestingly, Triptii’s rumoured boyfriend, Sam Merchant, also reacted to the news. He took to his Instagram Stories to share the official announcement and added clapping emojis — a subtle but supportive gesture that fans quickly picked up on.

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) also praised the casting choice. Spirit will mark the first on-screen pairing of Prabhas and Triptii Dimri, making it one of the most talked-about upcoming films. It also marks Triptii’s second collaboration with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and producers Bhushan Kumar and Pranay Reddy Vanga, after the success of Animal.

Originally, Deepika Padukone was rumoured to be the female lead in Spirit, but she reportedly exited the project due to undisclosed reasons.
