Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri X Reviews: Ananya Panday Earns Praise, Kartik Aaryan Faces Harsh Criticism

The much-anticipated romantic drama Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri finally released in theatres today, and social media reactions are sharply divided. While some viewers are praising Ananya Panday’s performance and the film’s emotional core, others are slamming the execution and calling Kartik Aaryan’s act “unbearable.” The verdict on X (formerly Twitter) is clearly a mixed bag.

Directed by Sameer Vidwans and produced by Dharma Productions, the film attempts to blend modern-day hook-up culture with old-school Bollywood romance. Kartik Aaryan plays Ray, a US-based wedding planner, while Ananya Panday stars as Rumi, a strong-willed aspiring writer from Agra. Their story begins with a meet-cute on a flight and unfolds against picturesque backdrops in Croatia, before shifting back to India in the second half.

The central conflict revolves around family responsibilities. Rumi refuses to leave her aging ex-Army father, played by Jackie Shroff, while Ray struggles with his mother’s rigid belief that she doesn’t want an Indian daughter-in-law. The film positions itself as a tug-of-war between love, duty, and parental bonds.

On the positive side, several viewers appreciated the emotional angle. One user wrote that the film should be watched with parents, calling it a rare romantic story that places a child’s responsibility toward family above romance. Fans of the genre also praised the visuals, festive vibe, and second half, with some claiming Kartik Aaryan still owns the rom-com space and that his chemistry with Ananya Panday works well.

However, the criticism has been equally loud. Many netizens felt the film failed to live up to its promise, calling it a glossy travel vlog disguised as a movie. Some reviews accused the film of poor direction, weak writing, and awkward dialogues. Kartik Aaryan, in particular, came in for heavy trolling, with viewers calling his performance repetitive and exhausting. A few even claimed audiences were leaving theatres during the interval.

Overall, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri has sparked debate rather than consensus. While Ananya Panday’s performance and the family-oriented emotional theme have found supporters, the film’s storytelling and lead pairing have left many unconvinced. Whether it’s worth the watch seems to depend entirely on whether you’re in the mood for a glossy, sentiment-driven rom-com—or not.
