May 19, 2025 : Actor Tusshar Kapoor is set to make his return to the big screen with a spooky twist in the upcoming horror-comedy Kapkapiii. Centered on a group of friends who play with a Ouija board to communicate with spirits, the film blends scares with laughs—and Kapoor says the concept is best left to cinema.

At the press conference for the film, held in New Delhi and attended by Tusshar Kapoor, Sonia Rathee, and Siddhi Idnani, the Golmaal star shared his personal experience with the supernatural—well, almost.

“I tried [the Ouija board] in my childhood for fun,” Kapoor admitted, “but I never pursued it seriously, and I have no intention of doing so in the future. It’s better if these things stay in films.”

When asked whether he had interacted with real-life practitioners of spirit communication—given the film is “inspired by true events”—Kapoor clarified that he hadn’t, and joked that he preferred to leave such encounters to the professionals.

“Why disturb the other world when we don’t really understand it?” he said. “If anyone does explore that space, they should do so with safety and knowledge. As for me, I’m only curious to the point where horror films entertain—nothing more.”

He also firmly stated that he has no interest in experimenting with Ouija boards again.

“I believe we should be at peace—and let the other side rest in peace too,” he quipped.

Directed by the late Sangeeth Sivan, best known for cult comedies like Kya Kool Hain Hum and Apna Sapna Money Money, Kapkapiii promises to be a chilling but comedic ride. The film also stars Shreyas Talpade in a lead role, alongside Kapoor.
