Urvashi Rautela Blasts Diet Sabya Over Cannes Viral Video, Calls Her ‘Paid Troll’
May 27, 2025: Bollywood actor Urvashi Rautela has fired back at popular fashion watchdog Diet Sabya for accusing her of blocking a hotel stairway during a photoshoot at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. In a strongly worded Instagram statement posted Tuesday, Urvashi called out the anonymous Instagram account for spreading “cowardly lies” and labeled them a “paid troll.”

The controversy erupted when Diet Sabya posted a video on May 23 showing Urvashi posing in a golden cape-style gown on a staircase, allegedly obstructing hotel guests. The caption read: “Not the first lady blocking everyone’s way for her photo op.” The video quickly drew criticism from social media users who accused the actor of lacking basic courtesy and disrupting public space for vanity shots.
One user commented, “I’m sorry she has nooooo manners whatttttt so ever… behaving like that isn’t getting anyone anywhere,” while another wrote, “Why do we lack etiquette?”

In response, Urvashi issued a public rebuttal, beginning her post with a message addressed to her “global fans, supporters, the Cannes Festival community, and champions of truth.”
“I rise with unyielding strength against the cowardly lies of Diet Sabya… Let the truth reign: my team secured full permission for a photoshoot on a designated staircase, as did others,” she asserted.
Calling Diet Sabya a “cheap imitation of Diet Prada,” Urvashi added that the account lacks originality and survives only by targeting “hardworking outsiders who dare to shine.”
“Their baseless narratives target those, like me, who elevate India’s pride on the global stage… No one — not Diet Sabya, nor their petty lies — can dim the light of Urvashi Rautela, a force that leads and inspires,” she wrote.
Urvashi also encouraged her followers to block and report the fashion commentary page and ended her statement with a pointed jab: “No matter how hard you troll me we will never pay you like others #paidtrolls.”
For the now-viral appearance, Urvashi donned a shimmering Joli Poli Couture gown paired with a Judith Leiber statement bag. Despite the backlash, she attended multiple film screenings during the festival in a personal capacity.
