Vadh 2: Sanjay Mishra–Neena Gupta’s Film Gets Intense New Posters
January 8, 2026: One of Indian cinema’s most respected acting duos, Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta, are set to return to the big screen with Vadh 2. Following the critical success of the 2022 crime thriller Vadh, the makers have officially confirmed that the spiritual sequel will release in theaters on February 6, 2026.
To kick off the one-month countdown, the production team released two intense new posters. The visuals, dominated by red tones and deep shadows, focus on the expressive faces of the lead pair, instantly setting a dark and suspenseful tone.
Unlike a conventional sequel that continues a previous story, Vadh 2 is being positioned as a spiritual successor. While it carries forward the DNA of its predecessor—exploring the grey areas of human conscience and quiet intensity—it introduces Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta in entirely new avatars.
The storyline shifts from the retired couple seen in the first film to a new set of characters entangled in a shocking prison crime. The narrative reportedly follows a police officer’s pursuit of truth as it intertwines with the lives of a widowed prison guard and an inmate.
The anticipation for Vadh 2 has been building since its gala premiere at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025. The screening reportedly played to a packed house and received a standing ovation, with critics praising the nuanced performances and the film’s ability to tackle psychological turmoil without leaning on high-octane spectacle.
The film reunites the original creative team, ensuring that the layered storytelling remains intact:
With a focus on atmosphere and visual storytelling, Vadh 2 aims to be one of 2026’s most thought-provoking releases, challenging the audience’s perception of right and wrong.
