October 31, 2024: Bollywood star Varun Dhawan embraced fatherhood this year with the arrival of his daughter with wife Natasha Dalal. The couple welcomed their baby girl on June 3. While Varun initially shared the news on social media with a heartfelt post, he recently revealed her name publicly for the first time during an appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati with Amitabh Bachchan.

During the show, Varun shared, “We named her Lara. I’m still learning to connect with her; as you said, everything changes when a baby comes home.” The proud new dad went on to ask Amitabh Bachchan about his own experiences as a parent, to which Bachchan reminisced about a device that would alert them at the slightest sound from their children, providing peace of mind.
The name “Lara” holds significance in various cultures, symbolizing grace, beauty, protection, and resilience. In Latin, Lara is associated with Roman household gods who safeguarded homes and fields, while in Greek, it translates to “messenger of the gods.” In Russian, Lara is a shortened form of Larissa, meaning “cheerful.”
This Diwali will be particularly special for the Dhawan family, with “Goddess Lakshmi” arriving in the form of their little one, as Amitabh Bachchan charmingly put it.
