Varun Dhawan Teases Cameo in Stree 2 with Shraddha Kapoor’s New Song ‘Khoobsurat’

Bollywood heartthrob Varun Dhawan is set to make a surprise appearance in the much-anticipated horror-comedy sequel, Stree 2. Varun recently stirred excitement among fans by sharing a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video on Instagram, offering a glimpse of the upcoming song “Khoobsurat,” where he stars alongside Shraddha Kapoor.

In the video, Varun, dressed in his suave best, shares sizzling chemistry with Shraddha Kapoor, who reprises her role from the original Stree. The video showcases playful moments between the two, with Varun teasing fans, “Iss Stree ki khoobsurti ka kaun hai yeh naya aashiq? #Khoobsurat Song Out Tomorrow! #Stree2, the legend returns this Independence Day, 15th August.” The full song is scheduled to release on August 9, 2024, adding to the already growing anticipation for the film.

This cameo isn’t the first time the duo has come together for a song. Shraddha Kapoor made a memorable appearance in the song “Thumkeshwari” from Varun’s 2022 film Bhediya, which also starred Kriti Sanon. Their on-screen chemistry in “Thumkeshwari” was widely appreciated, making their upcoming collaboration in Stree 2 all the more exciting for fans.

The music of Stree 2 is already making waves. Recently, the makers released the romantic track “Tumhare hi rahenge hum,” featuring RajKummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor. The song captures the evolving relationship between their characters, Vicky and Shraddha, and has been well-received for its soulful lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and mesmerizing vocals by Varun Jain, Shilpa Rao, and Sachin-Jigar. Maddock Films, the production house behind Stree 2, shared the song on Instagram, further building up excitement for the film.

Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 sees the return of beloved characters from the original film, including RajKummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee. The film introduces a new threat to the town of Chanderi, with Pankaj Tripathi’s character warning the villagers about the sinister “Sarkata.” The recently released trailer gives a glimpse into this new terror and how Vicky, played by RajKummar Rao, steps up to protect the women of Chanderi from this looming danger.

Adding to the star-studded cast, Saif Ali Khan will also have a significant role in the film, while Tamannaah Bhatia makes a special appearance with a dance number titled “Aaj Ki Raat.” The song, choreographed by Vijay Ganguly and composed by the dynamic duo Sachin-Jigar, promises to be a visual and auditory treat, with Tamannaah setting the stage on fire with her dance moves in a stunning green outfit.

The original Stree film, released in 2018, was a massive hit, blending horror and comedy in a way that resonated with audiences. Besides his cameo in Stree 2, he will be seen in Sunny Sanskari ki Tulsi Kumari, a film written and directed by Shashank Khaitan, where he shares screen space with Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and others. He has also wrapped up the first schedule of an untitled comedy directed by his father, David Dhawan, where he stars alongside Mrunal Thakur for the first time. This film marks the fourth collaboration between Varun and David Dhawan, following the success of their previous projects like Main Tera Hero, Judwaa 2, and Coolie No 1.

Additionally, Varun Dhawan is set to star in the action thriller Baby John, directed by A Kaleeswaran, with the film being presented by Atlee in association with Jio Studios and Cine1 Studios. He will also be seen in the Indian adaptation of the popular Hollywood series Citadel, opposite Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
