‘VD14’ First Look: Vijay Deverakonda’s Powerful Avatar Unveiled In Rahul Sankrityan’s Epic Saga

May 9, 2025: Actor Vijay Deverakonda is celebrating his 36th birthday today with a special treat for his fans. The actor has revealed the first look poster of his upcoming film, tentatively titled VD14. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the film is set in the 19th century, between 1854-78, against the backdrop of British colonial rule. The film marks Deverakonda’s reunion with director Rahul Sankrityan, following their successful collaboration on Taxiwaala.

Deverakonda took to his Instagram stories to share the first look of VD14, while Mythri Movie Makers also shared the poster on X (formerly Twitter), wishing the actor a very happy birthday. The striking poster features Vijay in a meditative pose, seated inside an ancient temple, with his back to the camera. A radiant mural of an elderly sage is seen in front of him, while his chiselled physique, long hair, and scars on his back hint at the intensity of his character. The poster has generated a lot of excitement among fans, with many praising Deverakonda’s power-packed look.

Fans are eagerly awaiting VD14 ever since the project was announced last year, and director Rahul Sankrityan recently shared more details about the film with Hindustan Times. He revealed that Deverakonda plays the role of a village boy, a departure from the urban characters he is known for. The character is set in Rayalseema, a region in Andhra Pradesh, known for its unique culture, slang, weather conditions, and more. This rural transformation promises to offer fans a completely different avatar of the actor.
