February 23, 2025: Vicky Kaushal is riding high on the success of his latest film Chhaava, which has garnered significant attention for its portrayal of the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film stars Vicky Kaushal as the Maratha ruler, with Akshaye Khanna playing Emperor Aurangzeb, alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Divya Dutta in important roles.

As the film continues to receive widespread acclaim for its portrayal of Sambhaji Maharaj’s heroics, Vicky expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards the audience on Instagram. During the 98th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan in New Delhi, the Prime Minister lauded the significant contributions of Maharashtra and Mumbai to both Marathi and Hindi cinema. He mentioned how Chhaava, which is based on the life of Sambhaji Maharaj, had gained nationwide appreciation, bringing attention to the historical hero’s legacy.

PM Modi specifically acknowledged Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel Chhava for introducing the valor of Sambhaji Maharaj to a broader audience.

Moved by the Prime Minister’s recognition, Vicky Kaushal reshared PM Modi’s post on his Instagram, captioning it, “Honoured beyond words! Grateful to Hon. PM Narendra Modi Ji. #Chhaava.” Co-star Rashmika Mandanna, who plays Yesubai in the film, also took to social media to express her gratitude, thanking PM Modi for the recognition.
