About ‘Chhaava’

Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava is a historical period drama that brings to life the story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the valiant Maratha warrior and son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film also stars Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna in key roles.

Speaking at a Jaipur promotional event, Vicky Kaushal shed light on the intense preparation for the role:

“A biopic requires immense preparation, not just for an actor but for the entire team. Working on a historical subject is always challenging due to the large budget and the need to recreate an entire era authentically. We have tried to make it as realistic as possible.”

The actor further added,
“The preparation was not just physical but also mental. I underwent extensive action training, bodybuilding, and deep historical research to understand the time period and bring authenticity to the role.”

Upcoming Projects

After Chhaava, Vicky Kaushal will be seen in the mythological magnum opus Mahavatar, where he portrays the legendary warrior-sage Parashurama. The film, inspired by Indian mythology, is set for a Christmas 2026 release.

Chhaava is all set to hit theatres on February 14, promising audiences an action-packed historical saga.
