Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava to be Screened in Parliament; PM Modi and Union Ministers Likely to Attend

The historical blockbuster Chhaava, which has crossed ₹700 crore at the box office, will be showcased at a special screening in Parliament on March 27, with Vicky Kaushal and the full cast expected to attend.

March 25, 2025: Actor Vicky Kaushal’s epic period drama Chhaava, based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, is set for a prestigious screening in Parliament. According to a News18 report, the special screening will be held at the Balayogi Auditorium in the Parliament Library Building on Thursday, March 27.

The film’s monumental success—grossing over ₹700 crore worldwide—has not gone unnoticed by the nation’s leadership. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with several Union Ministers and Members of Parliament, are reportedly expected to attend the screening. The cast and crew, including Vicky Kaushal, are also likely to be present.

This development follows PM Modi’s recent praise of Chhaava at the 98th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan, where he acknowledged the contribution of Marathi and Hindi cinema to Indian culture and remarked, “Chhaava ki dhoom machi hui hai.”

In response, Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram to share his gratitude:

“Honoured beyond words! Grateful to Hon. PM Narendra Modi ji. #Chhaava,” he wrote.
His co-star Rashmika Mandanna, who plays Yesubai, also expressed her appreciation via Instagram Stories.

Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Maddock Films, Chhaava tells the gripping story of Sambhaji Maharaj, the valiant son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and his unwavering courage in defending his faith and land. The film also stars Akshaye Khanna, Diana Penty, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Ashutosh Rana.

Released on February 14, 2025, the film has been both a critical and commercial success, recently becoming the subject of a piracy investigation. Mumbai Police registered an FIR after 1,818 illegal links distributing the film were flagged.
