Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’ Trailer Unveiled: A Tribute to the Legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj

The epic period drama promises grandeur and emotion as Vicky Kaushal takes on the role of the fearless Maratha king.

Mumbai, January 23: Fans of Vicky Kaushal are in for a cinematic delight as the trailer for his much-anticipated period drama, Chhaava, was unveiled today. The film, which portrays the legendary story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, is set to hit theatres on February 14.

Produced by Maddock Films and directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava chronicles the valiant reign of the Maratha ruler, beginning with his coronation in 1681. The trailer teases a gripping narrative filled with intense battles, emotional depth, and a portrayal of unparalleled leadership.

Vicky Kaushal stars as the courageous Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, while Akshaye Khanna plays the ruthless Mughal ruler Aurangzeb. Rashmika Mandanna adds elegance as Maharani Yesubai Bhonsale, the Queen of Swarajya.

One standout moment from the trailer features a high-stakes battle between Vicky’s character and a lion, showcasing the Maratha king’s unmatched bravery. The film promises breathtaking visuals, authentic costumes, and powerful performances.

At the trailer launch event in Mumbai, director Laxman Utekar described Chhaava as a “powerful tale of courage, sacrifice, and unparalleled leadership.” He added, “With a stellar cast and a deeply moving story, we’ve created a film that balances grandeur with heartfelt emotions and sensitivity. Everything from the sets to the costumes and dialogues has been kept as authentic as possible.”

Producer Dinesh Vijan, the founder of Maddock Films, emphasized the emotional depth and historical significance of the project. “Chhaava is more than just a film; it is a heartfelt tribute to a legacy that shaped history. We have poured extensive research and dedication into this project, and I believe audiences will carry its impact with them forever,” Vijan said.

With its promise of epic storytelling and stunning visuals, Chhaava is poised to become a landmark period drama.
