October 12, 2024: The much-anticipated mini-clash at the box office this Dussehra between two Bollywood films was set for an exciting start. On one side, Vasan Bala’s action-packed Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt, and on the other, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, a slapstick comedy led by Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri. Despite Jigra carrying greater star power, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video has emerged as the early victor, thanks to its crowd-pleasing genre.
Box Office Collection: Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video collected a respectable ₹5 crore net in India on its opening day, surpassing Jigra, which earned ₹4.25 crore. While this gives the comedy a slight advantage, its wider release and higher screen count contribute to the numbers, meaning this ‘victory’ should be viewed with some caution.
