Vidaamuyarchi Box Office Day 5: Ajith Kumar’s Film Sees Disastrous 76% Drop, Fails Monday Test!

Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi witnessed a massive 76% drop at the box office on its first Monday, bringing in an estimated ₹3-3.5 crore. Despite a strong opening weekend, the film struggles to maintain momentum.

February 11, 2025: Ajith Kumar’s highly anticipated action thriller, Vidaamuyarchi, faced a major setback at the box office on Day 5 (Monday, February 10). The film, which opened with strong numbers, saw a drastic 76% drop from Sunday’s collection, earning only ₹3-3.5 crore as per early estimates.

A Worrying Monday Drop

The first Monday box office test is often crucial in determining a film’s long-term success. Unfortunately, Vidaamuyarchi experienced a far sharper decline compared to Ajith Kumar’s previous films:

  • Thunivu (2023): Only 9% drop on first Monday (₹10.8 crore vs. ₹11.9 crore on Sunday)
  • Valimai (2022): 75% drop on first Monday (₹4.75 crore vs. ₹19.15 crore on Sunday)

Compared to these films, Vidaamuyarchi has had one of the biggest Monday drops in Ajith’s career.

Will Vidaamuyarchi Bounce Back?

The weekday trend will now be crucial for the film. Despite the poor Monday figures, Vidaamuyarchi is still aiming to reach the ₹100 crore mark in India. The film’s strong star cast, featuring Trisha Krishnan, Regina Cassandra, and Arjun Sarja, might help maintain stability in the coming days.

However, with Valentine’s weekend bringing in fresh competition from Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava and Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World, Vidaamuyarchi needs a strong turnaround to sustain its box office run.

Final Verdict

Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi had a promising start but now faces an uphill battle at the box office. The film must stabilize over the week to avoid an early exit from theaters.
