‘Vidaamuyarchi’ Day 4 Box Office: Ajith’s Thriller Rakes in Rs 92 Crores Worldwide Despite Mixed Reviews
February 10, 2025: Ajith Kumar’s latest action thriller, ‘Vidaamuyarchi,’ directed by Magizh Thirumeni, has collected an impressive Rs 92 crores worldwide in just four days, despite receiving mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike.
According to Sacnilk, the film has amassed Rs 61.67 crore from the Indian market, while its overseas earnings stand at Rs 32.3 crore. The Tamil Nadu box office contributed significantly, with Rs 60.28 crore in net collections. However, collections from the Telugu market have been modest, bringing in just Rs 1.39 crore in four days.
Despite its commercial success, ‘Vidaamuyarchi’ received an average rating of 2.5 stars. Critics highlighted the film’s slow pacing, particularly in the first half, with flashback sequences and predictable twists diluting the overall impact. The climax, though action-packed, has been described as a “convenient wrap-up” that left audiences disappointed.
The story revolves around Kayal’s kidnapping, leading Ajith’s character into a high-stakes rescue mission. While the film starts on a slow note, the interval picks up pace with an engaging sequence. Unfortunately, the quick revelation of the antagonist’s motives early in the second half made the narrative predictable, despite the gripping final hour.
The Sawadeeka song and Ajith’s performance have been standout highlights, drawing audiences to theaters. However, the inconsistent screenplay and rushed conclusion have kept ‘Vidaamuyarchi’ from being a universally acclaimed hit.
Ajith’s star power and the film’s high-octane action sequences have been instrumental in its box office success. With Rs 92 crore in its first four days, ‘Vidaamuyarchi’ remains a strong contender in Tamil cinema, despite its mixed reception.
