Vidyut Jammwal Joins Holi Celebrations In Mathura, Blows Conch Shell At Shri Dwarkadhish Temple

March 12, 2025: Actor Vidyut Jammwal participated in the Holi festivities at the Shri Dwarkadhish Temple in Mathura, blowing a conch shell and spreading festive cheer among the locals and visitors.

The actor, known for his action-packed roles, shared the joyous moment on his Instagram, where he posted a video of himself enjoying the colorful Holi celebrations and playing the nagada (traditional drum). In the caption, he wrote, “EXPERIENCE THIS!!!!!! Holi Begins…BRAJ KI HOLI….. #brajkiholi #vishramghat #holi2025 #brajkrasiya #mathura #vrindavan #rasiya #braj #happyholi #holihai #btvp.”

The Holi celebrations in Mathura, one of the most vibrant and culturally significant festivals in India, began with a grand start. Over the weekend, the famous Lathmar Holi festivities commenced in Nandagaon, signaling the beginning of the week-long celebrations. The Lathmar Holi, celebrated with great enthusiasm, is rooted in the legends of Lord Krishna and Radha. According to the folklore, Krishna and his friends visited Barsana to tease Radha, which led to Radha and her companions chasing them away with sticks (lathis). This playful exchange between the two villages, Nandagaon and Barsana, is re-enacted during the Lathmar Holi celebrations.

The festivities in Mathura, regarded as the birthplace of Lord Krishna, will culminate with grand processions, cultural performances, and temple rituals. Thousands of devotees and tourists from across India and abroad gathered in Nandagaon’s temple to witness the vibrant and colorful spectacle, further adding to the religious and cultural significance of the event.

Authorities have taken extra measures to ensure a safe and smooth celebration by deploying additional security and closely monitoring crowd management and traffic control. This year, the famous Laddu Mar Holi ritual took place in Barsana, where devotees threw sweets at each other in a joyous display of unity and celebration.

Earlier in the week, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated Rangotsav 2025 at Shri Radha Bihari Inter College in Barsana. He showered flower petals on the gathered crowd, marking the official start of the Holi festivities in the region. The entire region is brimming with colors, joy, and devotion, as Mathura and Vrindavan come alive with the spirit of Holi.

Vidyut Jammwal’s participation adds an extra charm to the already dazzling celebration, as he enjoys this significant cultural moment in Mathura, further making it a memorable Holi experience.
