Joining a chorus of outraged South Indian superstars, Vijay Deverakonda has lashed out against the online leak of Thalapathy Vijay’s highly anticipated film, Jana Nayagan. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Arjun Reddy star expressed his deep frustration, stating that such incidents reflect a “systemic failure” within the industry.
Deverakonda, who has faced similar challenges in his own career, empathized with the makers of the film. “The #JanaNayagan leak makes me angry,” he tweeted. He highlighted that a film isn’t just about the lead star but involves the dreams of co-actors, directors, and producers who have everything on the line. He urged authorities to identify those responsible immediately, calling out the insensitivity of individuals who cause such harm without a second thought.
A United Front Against Piracy
The leak of Jana Nayagan—which holds immense emotional weight as it is expected to be Thalapathy Vijay’s final film before his full-time transition into politics—has shaken the industry. Deverakonda’s statement follows similar condemnations from legends like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Chiranjeevi, as well as contemporary stars like Suriya and Jiiva.
The makers of the film have already moved into damage-control mode, issuing a stern legal notice warning the public against downloading, viewing, or sharing the leaked content. The notice explicitly states that anyone found engaging with the pirated material will face immediate legal consequences.
Support for the Team
Despite the setback, the film fraternity has rallied around the Jana Nayagan team. Deverakonda concluded his post by sending “unconditional support” to the crew. While fans remain furious over the breach, the collective stand taken by major stars emphasizes a growing intolerance toward digital piracy in the South Indian film industry.
