August 6, 2025: Vijay Deverakonda, a well-known actor known for his recent movie Kingdom, went to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Hyderabad today as part of a larger inquiry for endorsements linked to illegal betting sites. The actor was probed by officials about the contracts he signed to advertise the apps and the money he made from doing so.

Deverakonda is here after spending five hours with the famous actor Prakash Raj on July 30. The Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) said that the investigation has named 29 well-known personalities, including celebrities, influencers, and TV stars. Rana Daggubati and Manchu Lakshmi are two well-known names on the list. They will also be called in for questioning in the coming several days.
Five different FIRs were filed in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to commence the inquiry. The celebrities argue that their sponsorships were for legal skill-based gaming apps, but the ED is currently looking into the subject. As the lawsuit continues on, more renowned people may have to explain how they helped these platforms get more attention.
