After multiple delays due to geopolitical tensions, Vijay Deverakonda’s highly anticipated film Kingdom will finally release globally on July 31. A new promo teases high-octane action and a gripping transformation from cop to convict.
Mumbai, July 8 – After a string of delays and rescheduled dates, Vijay Deverakonda’s much-awaited action spy thriller Kingdom finally has a confirmed worldwide theatrical release on July 31. The announcement came on Monday via a powerful 44-second promo shared by the actor himself, featuring dramatic visuals of him first as a gritty police officer and then as a desperate prisoner battling for survival.
Fans of Vijay Deverakonda can officially start the countdown to one of his most anticipated releases — Kingdom — which is now confirmed to hit theatres globally on July 31. The long-awaited film, directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri, has gone through two previous postponements, but is now locked in for a full-blown international theatrical launch.
Deverakonda took to social media platform X on Monday to drop an intense teaser and confirm the final release date. In the 44-second promo, viewers see him portraying dual shades: first, a dedicated police officer, and then a shackled prisoner, navigating a harsh jail environment. The teaser is packed with explosive action, gritty hand-to-hand combat, and scenes of raw emotional intensity.
“July 31st. Worldwide. Let our destinies unfold,” Vijay captioned the post.

The film’s release journey has been anything but smooth. Initially slated for May 30, Kingdom was first delayed due to promotional challenges amid rising India-Pakistan tensions, making it hard for the team to proceed with nationwide outreach efforts. It was then rescheduled for July 4, before being finally pushed to July 31.
“We explored every possibility to stick to the original date, but recent unforeseen events in the country and the current atmosphere have made it difficult for us to move forward with promotions or celebrations,” read an earlier official statement from the producers.
The buzz around the updated release was amplified when Rashmika Mandanna, a close industry friend of Deverakonda, responded warmly to the promo.
“This is….All the bestest to the whole team! Have a greaaaaaatttt feeling about this one. July 31st is going to be a big celebration!” she wrote.
Directed and written by Gowtham Tinnanuri, Kingdom promises a gripping blend of espionage, action, and psychological drama. The film features Vijay Deverakonda, Bhagyashri Borse, and Satyadev in lead roles. It is produced by S. Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. The music score is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, adding to the film’s high-octane appeal.
With Deverakonda playing a complex character caught between duty and survival, Kingdom is poised to be a major theatrical event — both in India and overseas.
