May 14, 2025: Fans eagerly awaiting Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming film Kingdom will have to wait a little longer, as the makers have announced a change in the release date. Originally slated for release on May 30, 2025, the film will now hit theatres on July 4, 2025.

In an official statement released on Wednesday, the team behind Kingdom cited recent geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan as the reason for the delay.
“To our dear audience, we wish to inform that the release of our film Kingdom, originally set for May 30, has been rescheduled to July 4. We explored every possibility to stick to the original date, but recent unforeseen events in the country and the current atmosphere have made it difficult for us to move forward with promotions or celebrations,” the statement read.

The announcement follows a period of heightened tension between India and Pakistan, sparked by a terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives. In response, India launched precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and PoJK. However, both sides have since agreed to halt military action following a conversation between the two countries’ Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs).

Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, Kingdom stars Vijay Deverakonda in his first major role after The Family Star. The film also features Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead. Produced by Sithara Entertainments in association with Fortune Four Cinemas, the film has music by Anirudh Ravichander and editing by Navin Nooli.
