Newlyweds to distribute sweets, host temple feasts across 20+ cities
March 1, 2026: Fresh from their wedding, actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have announced a nationwide celebration to share their joy with fans. On March 1, the couple will distribute sweets and organise Annadanam (food donation) at multiple temples across India. In a heartfelt social media post, they thanked supporters for being part of their journey, saying they wanted to celebrate their marriage the way India does best — with “mithai and food.”
The sweet distribution and temple feasts will span more than 20 cities, including Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Kochi, Chennai and Bengaluru. Temples across several states are set to host the Annadanam events, with trucks carrying sweets and food items reaching selected venues. The initiative aims to allow fans to participate in the couple’s happiness and seek blessings for their new beginning.
The duo tied the knot on February 26 in an intimate ceremony near Udaipur, surrounded by close friends and family. On the professional front, they are set to appear together in Ranabaali, their first joint project post-marriage. The film features Vijay as Ranabaali and Rashmika as Jayamma, with Arnold Vosloo playing the antagonist Sir Theodore Hector, and is inspired by events from the 1850s.
