Vijay's Father SA Chandrasekhar Reacts To Jana Nayagan Release Delay
On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the Madras High Court set aside a previous order that had directed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to grant an immediate censor certificate. The court cited concerns regarding references to foreign powers and potential impacts on communal harmony and the Army.
Reacting to the delay, Chandrasekhar emphasized that his son remains undeterred by the hurdles, linking the film’s struggles to Vijay’s recent entry into politics.
“The people know what happened in Karur. Vijay is not afraid of anything. His chances of success are bright. It is normal for those entering politics for the first time to face obstacles,” Chandrasekhar stated.
Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth and featuring stars like Bobby Deol and Pooja Hegde, was originally slated for a January 9 release. It is widely expected to be Vijay’s final film before he transitions into full-time leadership with his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
