Vikrant Massey Clarifies He Is Not “Retiring”, “His Post Has Been Misinterpreted”

December 3, 2024: Vikrant Massey made headlines on Monday with a cryptic post suggesting that he was taking a break from acting, leading many to speculate that the actor was announcing his “retirement” from the industry. However, the actor clarified the situation the following day, issuing an official statement to dispel any misunderstandings.

In his statement, Vikrant explained that while his post had been misinterpreted, he was not retiring from acting but rather taking a temporary hiatus to focus on his physical and mental health. He shared that his health had been impacted recently, and he felt the need to recalibrate. “Acting is all I can do. And it has given me everything I have,” Vikrant said. “But my physical and mental health have taken a hit. I just want to take some time off, want to better my craft.” He further emphasized that his decision was about taking time to focus on his family and well-being and that he would return to acting when the time felt right.

The actor had previously expressed his gratitude to his fans, thanking them for their continuous support. In his earlier post, he shared how the past few years had been “phenomenal,” and noted that it was time for him to step back and spend time with his loved ones. “It’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father, Son, and Actor,” he wrote, adding, “So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right.”

Interestingly, just hours after posting about his break, Vikrant attended a special screening of his film The Sabarmati Report, where he had the honor of watching the movie with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several members of Parliament at the Balayogi Auditorium in Parliament. The experience left Vikrant deeply moved, and he expressed his happiness with the media, saying, “I still can’t fully express it in words because I am so happy… This is the highest point of my career, that I got to watch my film with the Prime Minister.”

The Sabarmati Report, directed by Dheeraj Sarna, is based on the tragic 2002 Godhra train burning incident. The film has already gained significant attention, with Prime Minister Modi publicly praising it for revealing the truth behind the events. The movie has also been declared tax-free in several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Rajasthan, reflecting its wide-reaching impact. Notable political figures like BJP MP Hema Malini, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Ministers from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Goa have also shown their support for the film.

In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, after attending a screening in Lucknow, expressed his gratitude to Vikrant and the film’s team for their efforts in shedding light on the incident. “The people of the country have the right to know the truth of the work that has been done to create animosity in society,” he remarked. The film has been praised for its sensitive handling of the tragic event, and its narrative aims to present a clear perspective on the 2002 Godhra tragedy.

The Sabarmati Report features Vikrant Massey, Ridhi Dogra, and Raashii Khanna in pivotal roles. It has garnered significant political and public support for its portrayal of a sensitive chapter in India’s history.

While fans are eager for Vikrant’s return to the screen, his decision to take time off to focus on his health and family underscores his commitment to self-care and growth, both personally and professionally.
