Actor says he was never part of Nitesh Tiwari’s film

February 8, 2026: Actor Vikrant Massey has finally addressed the speculation around his alleged casting and replacement in Nitesh Tiwari’s much-anticipated film Ramayana. Taking to Instagram Stories, Massey clarified that he was never associated with the project and criticised what he called “appalling” and irresponsible media reports. The post, however, was deleted shortly after it was shared, adding further intrigue to the episode.

In the now-deleted Story, Massey reshared a news article and wrote, “OK. To put things to rest, I was never a part of this movie. Am not, never was,” while expressing disappointment over misleading coverage by reputed media outlets. He also wished the team well and said he would watch the film in theatres, though he did not explain why the clarification was later taken down.

The rumours surfaced after reports claimed that dancer-actor Raghav Juyal had replaced Massey in the role of Meghanad (Indrajit), Ravana’s son, in Ramayana Part 2. According to industry reports, Juyal has indeed joined the cast for the second instalment, slated for a Diwali 2027 release. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, with the first part set to release worldwide during Diwali 2026.
