November 19, 2024: Actor Vikrant Massey, who has been actively promoting his film The Sabarmati Report, recently visited the residence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow.
The CM shared a picture with Vikrant on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Today, film actor Shri Vikrant Massey made a courtesy visit to the government residence in Lucknow.”
Vikrant also took to Instagram to share the same picture and expressed his gratitude towards the Chief Minister. He wrote, “Today got an opportunity to meet Hon’ble Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Their appreciation has inspired the entire team of #TheSabarmatiReport. Heartfelt thanks for this respect and affection.”
The film has been gaining attention for its portrayal of the 2002 Godhra train coach-burning incident. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also praised the film earlier, calling it a significant work that brings the “truth” about the incident to light. He responded to a post on X that tagged him and shared the trailer of the film. In his message, the PM remarked, “It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way common people can see it. A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period. Eventually, the facts will always come out!”
Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, The Sabarmati Report is based on the real-life events surrounding the burning of the S-6 coach of the Sabarmati Express in Godhra, which led to a major communal incident in India. The film was produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan, and Anshul Mohan and was released on Friday.
The film’s timely release and the subsequent attention from key political figures highlight its significance in addressing a sensitive chapter of India’s recent history.
