Vikrant Massey Returns to Sets After Cryptic ‘Quit’ Post, Shoots with Shanaya Kapoor in Dehradun

December 5, 2024: Days after his cryptic Instagram post sparked speculation about his retirement, Vikrant Massey has returned to the film set. The actor was recently spotted in Dehradun, filming Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan alongside Shanaya Kapoor, the daughter of Sanjay Kapoor. In a video shared online, Vikrant was seen interacting with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while Shanaya Kapoor, dressed in winter attire, also appeared on set. The film is reportedly directed by Santosh Singh and produced by Mansi and Varun Bagla.

Vikrant’s Instagram post on Monday sent shockwaves through his fans as he hinted at meeting them “one last time” in 2025. The statement led to widespread speculation about his retirement. However, the actor clarified the following day that he was not retiring but planning a long break to focus on his health, family, and craft.

In his clarification, Vikrant said, “Acting is all I can do. And it has given me everything I have. My physical and mental health have taken a hit. I just want to take some time off. I want to better my craft. I feel a sense of monotony at the moment.” He reassured fans, adding, “My post has been misinterpreted. I am not quitting or retiring from acting. I would be back when the time feels right.”

In his original Instagram note, Vikrant wrote: “The last few years have been phenomenal. But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father, and Son. And also as an Actor.” He further mentioned meeting his fans for “one last time” in 2025 before taking his planned break.

Despite the buzz around his post, Vikrant attended a special screening of his latest film, The Sabarmati Report, at the Parliament Library in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking about the moment, Vikrant shared, “Getting the opportunity to watch The Sabarmati Report with the Prime Minister of our country is the highest point in my career.” However, when asked about his “retirement” during the event, the actor chose not to comment.

Vikrant Massey is currently working on two films: Yaar Jigri and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan.
