The makers of the crime thriller “Sector 36” have unveiled its gripping trailer, following the buzz created by the posters. Starring Vikrant Massey and Deepak Dobriyal, the film is inspired by true events and delves into the chilling disappearance of children from a local slum. At the heart of the story is a police officer’s investigation, which reveals dark secrets and unsettling truths.
In a departure from his usual roles, Vikrant Massey plays Prem, a cunning serial killer who abducts and murders children. His performance, as seen in the trailer, showcases a terrifyingly layered character who blends into society while committing unspeakable crimes. Deepak Dobriyal portrays a determined police officer who embarks on a tense investigation, only for the case to take a personal turn when the killer subtly threatens his daughter.
The film touches on heavy themes such as power, crime, and social inequality, offering a stark commentary on class disparity and how unchecked crime can thrive in marginalized areas. Vikrant Massey described playing the character as one of the most challenging roles of his career, while Dobriyal emphasized how the script captivated him with its exploration of the hunter-and-hunted dynamic.
Directed by Aditya Nimbalkar in his debut, and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and Jio Studios, “Sector 36” promises to deliver a spine-chilling thriller when it releases on September 13. The film offers a disturbing yet important exploration of the darker aspects of society, with a gripping narrative that reflects the urgency of real-world issues.
