Farah Khan reacts as Vir Das draws parallels with her hit spoofs
January 13, 2026: Stand-up comedian and actor Vir Das is gearing up for his directorial debut with Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, and a recent interaction with filmmaker Farah Khan added a humorous twist to the buzz. During Farah’s vlog visit to Vir’s Mumbai home, a light-hearted exchange unfolded when her cook Dilip confused the film with Happy New Year. Playing along, Vir jokingly described his film as “usi type ka pagalpan, faltu type ki picture,” prompting mock outrage from Farah, who teased him for seemingly calling her films “faltu.”
The banter continued as Vir clarified that his own film was “fully faltu,” leading Farah to quip whether that meant hers was “half faltu.” Despite the jokes, Farah had high praise for the trailer, calling it “my kind of funny” and lauding Vir’s choice of accent for the character. Vir, in turn, said that while his film doesn’t have stars like Om Shanti Om, audiences who enjoyed Farah’s iconic spoof would likely connect with Happy Patel as well.
Vir went on to rank Om Shanti Om among the top spoof films in Hindi cinema, placing it alongside Andaz Apna Apna and even above Tees Maar Khan. He revealed that Happy Patel draws several references and tonal inspiration from Farah’s hit, describing it as a film where “the script is ridiculous, but the actors play it completely straight.” Farah, laughing at the comment, joked that she couldn’t tell if Vir was complimenting her or insulting her—perfectly summing up the playful spirit behind the exchange.
