Venue mistakenly uses his photo for Aziz Ansari’s London show

February 15, 2026: Vir Das recently took to social media to poke fun at the Royal Albert Hall after it mistakenly used his photograph in place of Aziz Ansari. Ansari is currently on his “Hypothetical Tour” and is scheduled to perform at the iconic London venue on July 11. Sharing a screenshot of the Google listing, Vir joked, “Who’s gonna tell em? Also my show is April 1,” playfully highlighting the mix-up. The error was later corrected, with Ansari’s image restored on the event page.

The post quickly gained traction online, with users reacting humorously to the confusion. One suggested the duo collaborate on a “good cop, bad cop” show, while another quipped that perhaps one of them was an AI-generated alter ego. Others joked about never having seen the two comedians in the same room together, adding to the light-hearted banter sparked by the incident.

On the professional front, Vir was last seen in Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, which marked his directorial debut. The film features Mona Singh and special appearances by Aamir Khan and Imran Khan. Vir co-directed the project with Kavi Shastri while also playing the lead role of an undercover agent.
