Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma Seek Blessings At Ayodhya’s Hanuman Garhi Temple

May 25, 2025: Just days after his heartfelt announcement about retiring from Test cricket, former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli made a spiritual visit to the Hanuman Garhi temple in Ayodhya, accompanied by wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma.

The couple, popularly known as “Virushka,” were surrounded by heavy security as large crowds gathered to witness their sacred outing.

The revered Hanuman Garhi temple, dedicated to Lord Hanuman, holds immense spiritual significance in Ayodhya, and the couple’s visit drew considerable attention. Videos and images that surfaced online showed Kohli dressed in a cream-coloured kurta, bowing in reverence with folded hands, while Anushka donned a pink salwar suit, embodying simplicity and grace.

Despite the massive public turnout and fan frenzy, the duo maintained composure as they offered prayers. This visit comes shortly after their spiritual journey to Vrindavan, where they met Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj and sought blessings along with their children, Vamika and Akaay Kohli. That trip was widely appreciated by fans, especially the moments where the couple engaged deeply in spiritual discussions with the Maharaj.

Kohli Bids Farewell to Test Cricket

In his retirement statement, Virat Kohli expressed deep emotions about his journey in red-ball cricket, saying,

“It’s been 14 years since I first wore the baggy blue in Test cricket. Honestly, I never imagined the journey this format would take me on. It’s tested me, shaped me, and taught me lessons I’ll carry for life.”

He added,

“I’ve given it everything I had, and it’s given me back so much more than I could’ve hoped for. I’m walking away with a heart full of gratitude.”

Kohli leaves behind a formidable Test legacy — a tenure marked by fearless leadership, iconic performances, and unmatched intensity on the field.

Anushka Sharma’s Film Comeback

On the professional front, Anushka Sharma is gearing up for her much-anticipated return to the big screen with Chakda ‘Xpress, a biopic based on the life of legendary cricketer Jhulan Goswami. This marks her first film in six years, following her 2018 release Zero alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
