Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar continues to dominate conversations, earning widespread praise not only from audiences but also from prominent names in the film industry. After glowing endorsements from filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga and director Vivek Agnihotri, actor Vivek Oberoi has now shared an emotional and powerful review of the Ranveer Singh–starrer.
Taking to social media, Vivek revealed that he had recently watched Dhurandhar after missing its theatrical run in the GCC. Calling the film “more than cinema,” he described it as a deeply unsettling and emotionally charged experience that confronts harsh historical truths. He compared its impact to flipping a switch in a pitch-dark room, stating that the film resonates strongly with those who understand sacrifice, loss, and the unseen cost of peace.
Vivek lauded director Aditya Dhar for his immersive storytelling, noting that the filmmaker allows the story to “bleed” rather than relying on spectacle. He praised the film’s gripping narrative and meticulous craft, adding that Dhurandhar doesn’t just push boundaries but “rips them apart,” much like Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal did in 2023.
Showering praise on the cast, Vivek highlighted Ranveer Singh’s restrained yet intense performance, saying the actor proves that silence can be more powerful than loud theatrics. Akshaye Khanna received special mention for his portrayal of Rehman Dakait, with Vivek calling his gaze, smile, and “kasainuma violence” unforgettable. He also applauded R Madhavan’s composed and cerebral presence, while acknowledging the impactful performances of Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal.
Concluding his review, Vivek expressed gratitude to the real-life heroes who inspired the film and congratulated Aditya Dhar and Jio Studios for delivering what he described as the highest-grossing single-language Indian film to date. With Dhurandhar 2 slated for a theatrical release on March 19, anticipation for the sequel is already running high.
